Who Supports Us

The Campaign to Control Cancer is a coalition of thousands of individual Canadians and more than 70 of Canada’s leading professional, charitable, corporate and grassroots cancer organizations. We are nurses, medical technologists, doctors, researchers, patients, advocates, corporate partners, supporters, students, volunteers – everyday Canadians who share a passion for taking control of cancer by applying what we know and learn.

The Campaign to Control Cancer was launched following the National Cancer Leadership Forum, a meeting of 26 leading cancer groups held in Aylmer, Quebec in December 2003. The campaign was launched a 2-year campaign to gain federal government commitment to cancer control which in 2006 resulted in sustainable funding of more than $50M annually for Canada’s national plan to control cancer. In 2011, the federal government renewed funding for the national cancer plan and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer.

The Campaign to Control Cancer continues to operate as the only independent public engagement and advocacy coalition in Canada.
